For many families around the world, the history of Jewish ancestors from Poland suddenly breaks off during the years 1939–1945 – documents are missing, witnesses are gone, and archives seem inaccessible. We are a small, specialized research team based in Poland, combining practical knowledge of archives with experience tracing Jewish ancestry. We work on-site – in archives, cemeteries, and local community offices – which gives us access to sources unavailable online.

How We Work – Step by Step
1. Data Collection
To begin with, we’d like you to tell us everything you already know: first names and surnames, approximate dates of birth, the name of the town or village, family stories, and even any uncertain spellings of surnames.
Based on this information, we’ll check which archives and databases your family is linked to, and whether the search for your Jewish ancestors has a realistic chance of success.
2. Archive Research
The next stage involves searching state, Jewish and church archives in Poland – both in digital collections and on-site in the reading rooms.
We use the available ‘Jewish Genealogy Poland’ databases and local Jewish archives in Poland to locate birth and death records, censuses and other documents relating to your family.
3. Cemetery Visit
Once we have located the burial site, we organise a visit to the Jewish cemetery in Poland – either on your behalf or together with you.
We document the gravestones, place memorial stones in place of cut flowers, and compile a photographic record of the place where your ancestors are laid to rest.
4. Documentation Report
Finally, you receive a clear report: a description of the research process, a summary of the findings, scans of documents (where possible) and photographs of the cemetery and places linked to your family’s history.
In the report, we also highlight further avenues for research – so that your family tree does not end in 1939, but can be expanded to include further generations.

Locating a grave in a Jewish cemetery in Poland is a process that requires knowledge, patience and access to numerous archival sources. Furthermore, we offer a thorough on-site and archival search.
